Sperm Whale Photos

It is a special opportunity to experience the sight of sperm whales, the largest toothed whale on earth, and the species in which the fictional story of Moby Dick was based.

These giants of the deep blue sea, leisurely swim at the surface, but also spend much of their time underwater, so I was fortunate to spend some time watching these sperm whales from the waterline as well as from above. New Zealand, the coast of Kaikoura is one of the best spots to see Sperm Whales. New Zealand is also known for its hector´s dolphins.
